PICS Mega Job Fair: A resounding empowering job seekers in Surrey

    The Progressive Intercultural Community Services Society (PICS) is elated to announce the triumphant culmination of its highly anticipated Mega Job Fair, held in Surrey, BC. This year’s event, which ran for 6 hours, witnessed an astounding turnout, benefiting over 5000 registered job seekers in and around Surrey.

    Connecting Job Seekers with Prominent Exhibitors

    The Mega Job Fair presented a diverse array of employment opportunities from over 80 esteemed exhibitors, encompassing both private and public sectors.

    Notable exhibitors included BC Corrections, Vancouver Police, ICBC, City of Vancouver, WorkBC, University Canada West, City of Surrey, SafeGen, and KPU, and Western Community College among others.

    The event provided an invaluable platform for job seekers to connect directly with potential employers, fostering meaningful interactions and networking opportunities.

    Support from Civic Leaders

    The Mega Job Fair garnered support from civic leaders, with the Mayor of Surrey sending her best wishes through City Councillor Pardeep Kooner.

    Eminent personalities, including John Aldag, Kerry-Lynne Findlay,

    Jagrup Brar, Garry Begg, Jinny Sims, Elenore Sturko, Trevor Halford, Linda Annis, Mike Bose, Indra Bhan also shared their own humble beginnings in the job market, inspiring job seekers to pursue their aspirations with confidence.

    Empowering Newcomers and Job Seekers

    The event’s significance was highlighted by a heartening testimonial from a recently arrived job seeker “I landed just 1 month ago in Canada and I had no clue what to do. Even though I have 5 years of experience in Sales, I was not getting any calls for interviews. Today at this Mega Job Fair, I was able to meet the hiring professionals in-person, and that has made me so confident now.”
