About the Pioneers:
The Dhatt brothers, Rick & Jason – are the sons of entrepreneur and founder of Skynet, Harbans Dhatt. The Dhatt Family’s foray in technology sales and service can be traced as far back as 1986 when Harbans began buying and selling computers in the local classifieds paper at that time, The Buy and Sell. Over the many long days, weeks, and years since then the Dhatt family, alongside their fearless and loyal staff, have grown the business to over 21 Rogers, Fido, and Chatr retail locations. Under the Skynet Wireless (Fido) the company has 8 stores in Vancouver Mainland and 3 stores in Vancouver Island. Under Kinetic Wireless (Rogers) brand they have 5 stores in Vancouver Mainland and 5 stores in Vancouver Island.
The current focus and future growth will be from their business solutions team which provides technology solutions based on wireless, wireline, and cloud platforms for corporations of all sizes.
Rick has expanded into managed IT services under the ‘Set IT Up Technologies’ brand name and most recently has acquired ‘Welcome Networks’, a managed IT and Cloud Services provider for accounting and professional firms with a team of 10 support staff. They are now integrated as a division of ‘Set IT Up’ as of October 1, 2019.
Technology has become the binding fabric of today’s society and they love playing their small part in delivering technology to the customers every single day.
Tajinder Singh Saini, as the District Manager with over four years working with the retail teams and driving market share growth with Skynet Wireless, feels, “I have mastered the ins and outs of mobile sales and territory prospecting. After honing and executing these specialties to reach our company goals, I am very happy and proud to work with Skynet and Kinetic in leading a great team across our 13 stores in the Vancouver Mainland district. Now, I spend the majority of my time brainstorming sales strategies and connecting with my South Asian community and other industry professionals who are interested in mobile shopping and services. My main focus is the best customer service with a strong focus on building relationships – not just focusing on transactional sales”.
