Confidence is key no matter what situation you are in, and sometimes it can be compromised due to little things about ourselves. Dark circles can be one such issue, and other than making us self conscious they can also make us look tired, unkempt, and uninterested. If you often find yourself fretting over your dark circles, here are some things you should try out to reduce them.

1. COOL DOWN WITH CUCUMBERS

Cucumbers are 90% water, they are pretty much the best eye pack since they are primarily hydrating, and have an excellent soothing and cooling effect on the eyes. Cut some slices and put them on closed eyes and try to catch a nap with the cooling sensation permeating into your eyes. The very fresh and light scent of cucumbers adds a mild element of aromatherapy which makes it a favourite of those who like to unwind with a cool treatment for the eyes.

2. HEAVY HYDRATION

Dryness can cause certain parts of your body and skin to lose their healthy colour and get strange pigmentation. The solution is to use a moisturizing face cream or lotion under your eyes at least twice a day and wait for about two weeks to see the result. Another great way to ensure proper hydration is to keep track of how much water you are drinking and making sure you drink at least 10 glasses a day.

3. 8 HOURS, NO LESS

There is no alternative to getting a truly fulfilling eight hours of sleep every night. Understandably, this sleep is much harder to get than to talk about. However, you should aim to get as much uninterrupted sleep as possible every night, and thereby fix your sleeping cycle. The efficacy of this no-brainer trick will be visible in as little as four days. While other little tricks can assist you in dealing with the issue of dark circles, getting proper sleep is a non-negotiable starting point.

4. TRY AN UNDER-EYE CREAM

In case you are plagued by really deep dark circles and puffy eyes, you may want to consult a physician who can closely look into your body chemistry and lifestyle in order to analyse why you may have such a condition. Try a medicated under eye cream that is heavy on hydration and non-blocking minerals and see if that helps with your condition.

5. COLD COMPRESSES

Cold compresses can help greatly relieve stress and when you do it with the right apparatus it is excellent for your dark circles as well. Use a fruit like tomato that is rich in antioxidants and gently lay it on your eyes for at least 15 minutes as you relax and unwind. Alternately, you can do this with tea bags of green tea soaked in cold water and let the high antioxidant content seep into your under eye area to brighten it.

Remember that human bodies are beautiful and complex, and when you cannot treat an issue by yourself always get proper medical assistance. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is the first step towards ensuring you are free of emotional and physiological stress.
