On June 26, Envision Financial, a division of First West Credit Union was pleased to host the 2nd annual Swing FORE The Full Cupboard golf tournament at Redwoods Golf Course. The tournament raises food, funds, and awareness for Envision Financial’s signa- ture cause, The Full Cupboard – a community program that supports food banks in the communities where the credit union operates. Envision Financial is thrilled to an- nounce that the tournament raised $90,000, the equivalent of 270,000 meals that local food banks are able to provide to those in need in our com- munity.
“Our local food banks are such an important pillar in our communities and we were thrilled to see our employees, members and community partners come together to sup- port our second annual tourna- ment,” says Dave Lanphear, President of Envision Financial. “Last year, the event raised just over $41,000 and we col- lected more than double of that this year. This will go a long way in helping the 11 food banks we support throughout the Lower Mainland, Fraser Valley and Kitimat. To see this event, which was planned and executed solely by volunteers, have such great growth and success in only its second year is really incredible.” Hunger knows no boundar- ies – in BC, our community food banks help 126,732 people every month and one third of those are children. The Full Cupboard has a goal to raise $1 million and 100,000 pounds of food by 2023.
“This tournament is just one of the ways our entire organi- zation is working towards our goal of eradicating hunger,” says Raj Sidhu, Chair of the golf committee and Regional Manager of Commercial Banking at Envision Financial. “Our sincere appreciation goes out to the incredible sponsors, volunteers, and golfers who made this event possible – we couldn’t have done it without them!”
Next year’s Swing FORE The Full Cupboard tournament will be held in June 2020. For more information, visit envisionfinan- cial.ca/golf or email the tour- nament organizer Raj Sidhu at email@example.com.
